Evelyn Pinot Noir first made her appearance in vintage 1998 and was named after Evelyn Waldron, Bill Cates’ Mom and an early patron of Tantara. After her passing, we dedicated our flagship wine to her. Not always the biggest wine in scale, Evelyn represents the pinnacle of the vintage - a complex wine of balance and finesse, approachable now but also with an eye to the future. We think the 2006 vintage meets these expectations. Dark ruby in color with a haunting perfume, this wine is silky on the palate from the entry to the finish, evolving with aeration as the aromas continue to soar from the glass. With a full midpalate and great depth, the wine finishes with well integrated ripe tannins leading to a long complex crescendo. |

Starting at 4:00 PM we will conduct a tasting of the 2006 Evelyn to be followed by a
Santa Maria Style BBQ in the Tantara tradition. Wines to be served at the
buffet style dinner will include currently available Pinot Noir, Chardonnay
and Syrah. Please RSVP via e-mail or by calling the winery at 805-938-5051 and
letting us know you will be attending and how many will be in your party. Cost:

The Evelyn will
be available for purchase at the event, and is now available for
pre-purchase. We encourage you to attend the event, but if that is not
possible we will reserve your order to be shipped when the weather is cooler.
Commemorative wood boxes with the Tantara logo are available for orders of 3
or 6 bottles at no additional charge. There is no minimum bottle order, and
a limit of six bottles per order. Cost is $90/btl plus tax and shipping. An

For those of
you who helped us last year to celebrate our first ten years, we all
experienced a memorable midsummer night in the vineyard. We look forward to
making this Evelyn Release Party an annual event. Please join us on July 26th.
